“The EPAS Accreditation indicates that we meet quality standards in our own environment and also satisfy international standards. Graduates who choose to study an EPAS accredited programme can be assured that they are attending a programme with high international standards of quality,“ says Björn Kjellander, Accreditation and Quality Manager at JIBS.

EPAS is an international accreditation system operated by EFMD (the European Foundation for Management Development). The process involves an in depth review of the study programmes in question. They must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalization. The accreditation process involves a self-assessment procedure, followed by a peer review visit by an international team of auditors.

EPAS attaches particular importance to the creation of an effective learning environment favouring the development of students’ managerial and entrepreneurial skills, and fostering their sense of global responsibility. It also looks for innovation in all respects, including programme design and pedagogy.

“We recognise programmes for successful internationalisation and are most demanding with our standards in the areas of academic rigour, corporate relevance and quality assurance. We want to attract the premium segment of international academic management programmes worldwide,” said Prof Eric Cornuel, Director General and CEO of EFMD, in the newsletter of the organization.

Earlier this year, JIBS’ eligibility application to AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) was accepted, and the accreditation process is underway. It is estimated that the AACSB accreditation will take at least four years to complete.
